At Mackenzie German Shepherds we specialize in Czech working line German shepherds bred with the family companion in mind. Our dogs are AKC registered with a special focus on long coat German shepherds, typically striking solid black and black sable coats. While they retain the intelligence, structure, and working line qualities that make the German shepherd such an exceptional breed, our dogs are selected for moderate to low prey drives and excellent "off switches". They are active and engaged when it's time to play, train or explore, but they are equally happy to settle down and relax with their family. This balance makes our German shepherds wonderful companions for families who want the beauty and character of a working line German shepherd without the dog that is constantly on.

At Mackenzie Labradors, we breed AKC registered Labradors with a focus on exceptional temperaments and outstanding family companionship. Our Labradors are friendly, affectionate, intelligent and adaptable, making them wonderful additions to families of all kinds. They have that classic Labrador personality ~ always ready to grab a ball and head outside for an adventure, but just as happy to curl up beside you on the couch at the end of the day. Our breeding program can produce chocolate, black, fox red and yellow Labradors giving families a beautiful variety of colors to choose from. Above all we strive to raise well rounded, loving Labradors that are eager to be part of their family's everyday life.
Who we are
For more than 22 years, breeding has been a passion and a way of life for our family. We started with Labradors while raising our three children, and over the years our love for dogs has only grown. We live in a small country town in central Maine - where there are more cows than people - and our dogs and puppies are truly a part of our everyday family life. About 10 years ago we added German Shepherds to our program. Having grown up with a German Shepherd, I have always had a deep love for the breed and knew I wanted to share that love with others. Today, our children and grandchildren are an important part of our puppy raising process and are exceptional at providing the gentle, positive socialization that helps our puppies become confident and well rounded companions. I believe in being honest, transparent and there for my families long after the puppy goes home. Choosing a puppy is a big decision, and I want my families to feel comfortable asking questions and knowing they have someone they can turn to. When you bring a Mackenzie puppy home, you don't just get a puppy, you gain a breeder who will answer the phone, offer guidance and be there for you throughout your dog's life. I don't ghost my families after the sale, I believe in building relationships that last a lifetime.
